Luis Gerardo is a professor in the Department of Management and Leadership at the Business School, with 20 years of teaching experience in organizational behavior, talent management, conscious business, ethics, and social responsibility. He is also the team leader for the academic aspects of the Talent Development and Organizational Culture program. He studied psychology because, from a very young age, he found a call to create spaces for the growth of people and accompany them in their development.
He did a master's degree in Applied Ethics to understand the elements that can help make more humane and fair decisions. His doctorate in Human and Organizational Systems responded to his goal of understanding and collaborating in creating positive change for individuals and organizations. Education, in general, is his passion. For Luis Gerardo, walking along with his students in their learning process is a privilege and an inexhaustible source of inquiry, awareness, and search for better ways to do their job. In his teaching practice, he focuses on the importance of valuing the contribution of people in their different contexts and on understanding the factors that can hinder or enhance that contribution.
He is a TEDx speaker, instructor, and conference speaker with experience in Mexico, Canada, the United States, Ecuador, Peru, and Tanzania, collaborating with various companies and organizations on academic and consulting projects. He has been involved in civil society projects focused on education and community development, volunteering with the civil society organization EDHUCA, which focuses on cooperative training programs to promote cooperation, peace, and solidarity in various areas through cooperative games. He also serves as an academic advisor for organizations such as Techo, Enactus, SerVers, among others.
He participated as a co-author of the book “Empresas Mexicanas: El Viaje hacia un Capitalismo Consciente.” He received the 2013 National Recognition for Ethics and Citizenship Education, the 2013 Golden Ram, the Professors Who Leave a Mark recognition within the framework of the 70th and 75th Anniversary of the Tecnológico de Monterrey and the 2018 Inspiring Professor award at the national level of the Tecnológico de Monterrey. Luis Gerardo lives in Toluca with his wife and his daughter. In his free time, besides spending time with his family, he enjoys reading non-fiction, fantasy and science-fiction literature, playing board games, and watching all kinds of movies and series.
